Lumber back 120 years with me, Theodore, the very first plush teddy from 1900s Brooklyn. I’m known to be quite the legend among my kind. And as for my name, well, did someone important preside over it?

Allow me to introduce myself: I’m Theodore, the original plush teddy bear, born just as the world was falling in love with us. Before that, we were simply “stuffed bears”… can you imagine? My story began the day President Roosevelt spared a captured bear, a moment that melted hearts across America. Soon after, a clever Brooklyn penny store stitched me to life and called me “Teddy’s Bear.”
